My name is Ryan Cowley.
I have been a writer for many years, specifically in the sports variety. I have written about the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings for nine seasons for the FanvsFan Network, my own MakeWayfortheKings.net and CaliSportsNews.com. Additionally, I was a tennis writer (for the New York Observer and TennisViewMag.com) where I covered Toronto’s Rogers Cup four times as well as the 2016 U.S. Open. I have also covered such events as the Stanley Cup Final, the NHL Draft, the AHL All-Star Classic and the Hockey Hall of Fame Induction weekend.
I was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, and have been living in Toronto since 2009. I am a graduate of Humber College’s Comedy Writing & Performance program and was a stand-up comedian for a few years where I performed at clubs such as Yuk Yuk’s and Absolute Comedy.
Despite living with depression, anxiety and a stutter, I have accomplished quite a lot and am determined to tell my story of resilience, perseverance and accomplishment in an effort to inspire others.
I hope you enjoy TheBigSalad.ca as much as I enjoy writing for it.
